Teamfight Tactics Lunar 2026: Festival of Beasts - All We Know and More

It’s that special time for Teamfight Tactics players as the brand new Set 16: Lore and Legends has been a major hit amongst fans, and players are flocking to the game.

Now, Riot will be bringing back a set from the past for this year's Lunar New Year event.

      Here's all we know.

Teamfight Tactics Lunar 2026: Festival of Beasts - All We Know and More

Riot Games has certainly had their hands full as of late, as with their three major games, League of Legends, Valorant and Teamfight Tactics all succeeding in their own rights.

The auto-battler has received what some are calling its best Set in recent memory; and Riot is using this spike in popularity to bring back a set that released back in version 4.5

Revival: Festival of Beasts is an all-time TFT classic, which is why we are bringing it back for Lunar Revel this year. No matter if it’s your first, second, or third time experiencing the OG fortune, we have surprises in store for you!

Let’s go over some of the highlights of Festival of Beasts.

First up, a refresher on the set mechanic: Chosen.

Chosen units appear in every fourth shop, even if you already have one on the board or bench. However, you won’t be able to buy them unless you sell your old one. When a Chosen unit is purchased, they will already be at a 2-star level and cost accordingly. Chosen champions give +1 to one of their traits as well.

Here are the rules of Chosen:

      • When you see a Chosen unit that you’ve seen before, they will not have the same +1 trait as when you last saw them. For example, if you passed on an Enlightened Talon, the next time you’re offered a Chosen Talon, it will be an Assassin Talon.

      • When you pass on a Chosen unit, you won’t see that champion again for a few rounds.

      • If you have more than four copies of a 4-cost or three copies of a 5-cost, you can’t see the Chosen unit. 1/2/3-costs have no restrictions.

      • There must be three copies remaining in the pool for the champ to be able to show up as a Chosen unit.

Speaking of copies, here are the shared bag sizes for each cost:

      • 1 cost: 50

      • 2 cost: 40

      • 3 cost: 30

      • 4 cost: 12

      • 5 costs: 10

      Next up, Augments.

Augments didn’t exist in the original set, and we added some pretty cool ones last time around. Here are some of our greatest hits:

      • Growing Roots: Elderwood units gain Maximum Health for each round they have stayed in their initial hex.

      • The Fabled One: Wukong is now a Fabled unit and gains additional ability power. Gain a 2- star Wukong.

      • Cult's Offerings: For every Gold above 40 that you have during planning, Galio permanently gains health

Of course there are more… but you gotta hop into the Revival to discover them.

      Lastly, Opening Encounters.

Opening Encounters is another modern TFT mechanic that has stood the test of the time to become a mainstay feature.

Here are our Revival: Festival of Beasts exclusive Opening Encounters that you will be able to experience soon:

      • Carousel of Vitality: Extra loot, extra fast!

      • Off To The Races: Guess the winner of the race and win loot.

      • Fireworks Show: Collect fireworks to gain loot.

      • Growing Prosperity: Gain a better item anvil every stage.

      • Year of the Horse: Gain a lucky horse that moves across your bench with a reward at the end.

The Revival Ladder is also making a comeback with rewards such as Realm Crystals, Treasure Tokens, and of course the fabled Oracle and Visionary borders to flex.
