NHL 25 is looking to improve drastically over last years iteration, and some of the additions they're making have fans amped.
Season 1 is now here, and we're going tor breakdown all of the rewards players will be able to earn.

NHL 25 Season 1 Details: Rewards, Battle Pass and More
The release of the annual hockey title is one that players look forward to each year, and Season 1 within the game is going to be released alongside the game launch.
Hockey Ultimate Team is going to offer some incredible chances at earning some wicked cards, and all of the details for Season1 are below.
Season 1 - BUILT DIFFERENT
Season 1 starts today, October 4th. For those of you who are just jumping on, welcome!
The theme for the inaugural Season is Built Different. We all know that hockey is a special sport, its players a unique breed, and the action on the ice is second to none — that’s the spirit and feeling we want to celebrate.
As Season 1 begins, now’s the opportunity to establish your footing and kickstart your legacy. So, first things first: it’s time to focus on building up your team.
With that in mind, the Season 1 HUT Progression Path allows you to collect enough XP to unlock six new players at different points of the path. The first five players you unlock will have an OVR level of 80 but some can be upgraded to OVR 85. The Season 1 HUT Progression Path culminates at level 60, where you unlock the sixth new player, Jack Eichel, who has an OVR of 87.
In terms of HUT Live Events, Here is your schedule for the first Season:

Cover Athletes - Starts today, October 4th
- This event will celebrate and showcase stars who have graced past covers of the EA SPORTS NHL series. These cover athletes will feature high OVRs, perfect for players to add to their HUT team at the beginning of the season.

Fantasy Hockey - Starts October 18
- An event that features player cards whose OVR will grow based on a player’s real-life performance throughout the regular season.

Supernatural - Starts October 18
- This seasonal event will run alongside the Fantasy Hockey event listed above and will feature players with “supernatural!” abilities (Oooh! Spooky!)

Off the Charts - Starts November 1
- This event puts a spotlight on hockey stars of the past and present who are known for their nicknames.

Next Gen - Starts November 15
- The rookies of the NHL 2024-25 season and former Calder Trophy winners will be the focus of this event.

Season 1 Battle Pass
- The first Battle Pass for NHL 25’s World of CHEL mode will feature 90+ rewards across 75 levels and a premium upgrade is available as well. Completing the Season 1 Battle Pass will net you the NHL 94 Rewind Vanity Set*

NHL 94 Rewind Live Event - Starts Today, 10/4 9 AM PT TO 10/7 2 AM PT
- A blast from the past! Welcome to the throwback event of the last century. This NHL 94-themed event oozes nostalgia from the pixelated blue ice graphics to the fatigue-disabled gameplay, it’s safe to say NHL 94 vets will not get tired of this time-limited WoC event anytime soon and of course, players new and old are all welcome on the ice! Be sure to check back often as fresh Live Events are always being rotated in. There will be more info on new upcoming Live Events soon so stay tuned to the EA NHL social channels.
- New Characters
- Keeping with the theme of spooky season, two brand new characters are available today in the World of CHEL store with their player classes available through the previously mentioned Battle Pass. Now say hello to:
- Agent Blueline - No one patrols the blueline with as much authority as this offensive defenseman. Agent Blueline is capable of lighting the lamp and protecting the crease in his own end.
- Sudden Death - A spine-chilling presence, opposition players know to respect Sudden Death when he steps onto the ice for his shift. A hulking Enforcer who takes no prisoners in the corners, and uses the body at any chance.
Power Play Week
If you need any more reasons to jump into NHL 25 on Day 1, Power Play Week starts today. Power Play Week is a time-limited in-game offer that runs from Oct. 4th through the 14th, ONLY during that time players can log into NHL 25 to receive a HUT Cover Athlete Players Choice Pack† which includes:
- 1 of 3 - 83 OVR Surprise Cover Athlete Base Player Items
- Time Sensitive Objectives that will last for one week and can only be completed with your Suprise Cover Athlete that you receive during Power Play Week.
