All Field Upgrades In Modern Warfare 2 (2022)

Field Upgrades in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 are an additional equipment piece or ability that requires manual activation to grant a specific advantage in or outside of combat.

In Multiplayer, a Field Upgrade is the final part of a Loadout and is usually unavailable at the start of a match. When a Field Upgrade is ready to use, its teal-colored meter at the bottom-right corner of the HUD fills – this indicates that it is available for deployment. Tactical use of Field Upgrades can turn the tide of battle for you or your team, and each one is tailored to a specific style of play.

Field Upgrades were designed with three common Operator architypes in mind: Aggressive Operators who thrive on fast action, Reactive Operators who roam and use tactical movements, and Defensive Operators who hold their positions and take overwatch.

Read on for a list of every Field Upgrade available in Modern Warfare 2.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Field Upgrades List

The Call of Duty Modern Warfare beta is currently live and following Call of Duty Next fans have been given a full look at the full list of field upgrades available to players.

Here’s the full list of all field upgrades in Modern Warfare 2:

  • Deployable Cover – Portable, rapidly-deployable ballistic cover
  • Tactical Insertion – Marks a location as your next spawn point
  • Trophy System – Deployable autonomous defense system that destroys up to three nearby pieces of equipment and projectiles. Some larger targets may take multiple shots
  • Portable Radar – Emits a periodic radar ping to detect nearby enemies
  • Battle Rage – Experimental stimulant that gives you an adrenaline rush. Health regenerates quickly, Tactical Equipment is resisted, and Tactical Sprint is constantly refreshed
  • Suppression Mine – Trip mine that, when triggered, emits a constant sound wave that disrupts enemy vision and slows their movement
  • Loadout Drop – Call in a team-based loadout crate with limited uses. Each player can only use it once
  • Tactical Camera – Remote-controlled camera that marks enemies. Use the Field Upgrade command to throw it, then do it again to connect to it. When left on its own, the camera will monitor the area, and warn players of nearby enemies by sound
  • Munitions Box – Deploy a box of ammo and equipment for you and your teammates
  • Smoke Airdrop – Call in a line of drones to deploy a smoke wall at a targeted location
  • Inflatable Decoy – Proximity activated decoy mine. Upon activation, the Kevlar target is violently deployed to confuse and distract. Use the Field Upgrade command a second time for manual activation
  • Recon Drone – Remote-controlled drone that has manual and auto marking capabilities
  • DDOS – Activates a device that deactivates electronics, and disrupts enemy sensors in the immediate area for a short time
  • Anti-Armor Rounds – Gives weapon ammo that applies bonus damage against armored targets; this includes vehicles, equipment, body armor, and targets behind penetrable cover
  • Dead Silence – Temporarily makes your footsteps silent. Gun, melee, and throwing knife kills refresh duration (unlocks at level 30)

That’s everything you need to know about the field upgrades in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, but stay tuned for more helpful guides and tips the closer we get to launch.
