HALO INFINITE VEHICLES, WEAPONS, AND ARMOR CUSTOMIZATION DETAILS

Halo Infinite Vehicles, Weapons, and Armor Customization Details

While Halo Infinite’s campaign may or may not release on its expected date, players at least won’t have to wait long to enjoy the game’s multiplayer. The free-to-play multiplayer mode has just wrapped up its latest beta test, giving players a chance to experience the game firsthand. The beta also gave players a look at which vehicles, weapons, and armor designs may make their way into the game. Having jumped into the beta, here’s what we’ve learned about the confirmed vehicles, weapons, and armor in Halo Infinite.

Halo Infinite Vehicles

Halo Infinite Vehicles

Expect plenty more Covenant vehicles in the full game.

For this beta, players were able to test out the Big Team Battle mode. Based around the capture-the-flag format, it featured a wide map alongside a number of familiar vehicles. Warthogs and Ghosts were scattered around, but this was only a sample of the vehicles that players can expect in the final game.

Here are the UNSC vehicles from the series that have been confirmed for Halo Infinite:

    • Gungoose: A small ATV with dual turrets on it.
    • Mongoose: A Gungoose ATV without the guns.
    • Razorback: The Razorback is an armored version of the Warthog.
    • Rocket Warthog: A version of the Warthog equipped with a Rocket Launcher.
    • Scorpion: A large tank capable of firing large munitions.
    • Warthog: The classic Warthog is a jeep-style vehicle that can be used to get multiple people across the map quickly.
    • Wasp: A small aerial vehicle complete with machine guns and missile launchers.

And here are the Covenant vehicles that have been confirmed:

  • Banshee: A small aerial vehicle outfitted with plasma cannons.
  • Chopper: A ground-based, single-rider vehicle with two large wheels at the front to pull it along.
  • Ghost: The Covenant’s single-rider hoverbike, featuring dual plasma cannons.
  • Wraith: A small tank that fires large plasma artillery rounds.

If this list looks a little light — especially on the Covenant side — that’s because it is. Chances are there will be many more vehicles in the game once it releases.

Halo Infinite Weapons

Halo Infinite weapons

The Energy Sword is a classic. Just make sure you’re the one wielding it.

Halo Infinite is slated to have an immense arsenal. Like other games in the series, there are no upgrades for these guns — players are on equal footing when it comes to the stats of their weapons. Here are the current ranged weapons you’ll find in Halo Infinite:

  • BR75 Battle Rifle: The Battle Rifle shoots in three-round bursts and is great for dishing out damage at range.
  • Cindershot: The Cindershot shoots explosive rounds that can be guided by aiming down sights.
  • CQS48 Bulldog: The Bulldog is a solid close-range weapon that can easily overcome most other guns over short distances.
  • Disruptor: The Disruptor appears to shoot electricity that can arc between players and does damage primarily to shields.
  • Heatwave: Creates energy balls that can bounce off surfaces to land hits.
  • Hydra: The Hydra shoots explosive shells that do decent damage to enemies.
  • MA40 Assault Rifle: The classic assault rifle that often serves as the game’s default weapon. Generally decent for the beginning of a round, but not one that will keep you competitive as other players find weapons.
  • Mangler: The Mangler is a nine-round slug thrower and an all-around decent sidearm.
  • MK50 Sidekick: The Sidekick is a 12-round pistol that can finish off an enemy with a well-placed headshot once their shields are down.
  • Needler: The Needler shoots crystals that attach to enemies and then explode. It’s great for close and medium-range encounters.
  • Plasma Pistol: The standard Covenant pistol can rip apart shields quickly as well as disable vehicles.
  • Pulse Carbine: The Pulse Carbine shoots bursts of four plasma bolts that greatly diminish shields and auto-track their targets.
  • Ravager: The Ravager shoots plasma bolts that explode and splash when hitting the ground.
  • S7 Sniper: The S7 Sniper returns in Halo Infinite, taking only two shots to down an enemy.
  • Sentinel Beam: The Sentinel shoots a continuous beam of energy directly where you are aiming, making it a tricky weapon to deal consistent damage with.
  • Shock Rifle: The Shock Rifle can bounce electricity between multiple enemies.
  • Skewer: The Skewer fires large javelins as ammo and features a hefty bayonet for melee attacks.
  • Stalker Rifle: The Stalker Rifle appears to be a Banished version of the S7 Sniper rifle.
  • VK Commando: The Commando is a good medium-range automatic weapon, with the capacity to do some damage both in short and long ranges as well.

There are also a couple of classic melee weapons making a return:

  • Gravity Hammer: A huge hammer that can make short work of enemies in close range.
  • Energy Sword: A sword made of pure energy that can deliver a fatal blow if you can get close enough to an enemy.

Both the Gravity Hammer and Energy Sword work extremely well when coupled with the Grapple shot equipment. Use the latter to swing yourself over to a foe and deliver the killing blow.

Armor Customization in Halo Infinite

Halo Infinite Armor customization

Halo Infinite will feature a wealth of cosmetic customization options for your Spartan.

As in previous iterations, you’ll be able to customize your Spartan as you see fit with a bunch of different armor types. This time around, you’ll also be able to use coatings to further adjust the color and patterns on your armor. With the game’s seasons system, we can probably expect to see new coatings released regularly. We’ll most likely also see certain armors tied to the game’s Battlepass. These coatings will also be usable on weapons and vehicles.

Halo Infinite Release Date

Players will get to dive into Halo Infinite on Dec. 8, assuming there are no further delays with the game. There are rumors that Microsoft and 343 Industries are planning on delaying the campaign and only releasing multiplayer modes, but both companies have denied this. Halo Infinite’s multiplayer will be free on PC and Xbox systems, with the campaign being included in Game Pass.
