Disco Elysium is arguably one of the best games ever made, receiving universal acclaim and numerous Game of the Year honours when it was released back in 2019.

There’s no end to the amount of positive things you can say about the debut title from independent game dev ZA/UM. It looks killer, has some excellent storytelling, and there’s plenty of replayability too.

Whilst the RPG originally launched on PC Only, it did make its way to consoles via the release of the Final Cut edition in 2021, allowing even more players to experience everything it has to offer.

If you’re only just getting around to playing this incredible game, then don’t worry, we won’t judge you. But we imagine since you’re here, you’re probably looking for some help to find Ruby in Disco Elysium. No problem, we’ve got a full guide to help you out, so read on for everything you need to know.

Why Do You Need To find Ruby?

Ruby is the eighth member of the Hardie Boys and also one of the most organized people in the Union. This is why she is in charge of organising the drug traffic flowing through Martinaise.

As your investigation into the murder of the mercenary in Disco Elysium grows, players will eventually talk to Klaasje, who suggests that a woman named Ruby orchestrated the murder cover-up. This leads to the ‘Make Titus give up Ruby’s location quest’ in which you need to interrogate Titas to discover where Ruby is hiding.

Although Titas doesn’t think Ruby is involved, he will eventually come around should you pass an “impossible” Logic check and present him with means, motive, and opportunity.

In the end Titus will reveal that Ruby skipped town when she caught wind that people were looking into her. He suggests she isn’t in Martinaise East, and must be hiding somewhere in Martinaise West. As such he’ll recommend you ask around the fishing village for more info, which starts the ‘Ask about Ruby in the Village’ task.

Where to Find Ruby in Disco Elysium

After some digging, you’ll learn that Ruby is hiding in a location called Land’s End, which is an area slightly North-West of the Fishing Village, just across the water lock.

To be more specific, she’s actually hiding out in the basement of the derelict Feld Building, which is surrounded by a dilapidated boardwalk, amusement park, and fish market. It shouldn’t be too difficult to find since it has a large mural painted on the front of the building. That said if you need a bit more help check out the image below to show what you are looking for.

However, moving onto the next stage of the story isn’t quite so simple. Once you find the Feld Building you will then need to examine the mural and pass an “impossible” shivers check before you can proceed.

How To Pass The Shivers Check On The Feld Building Mural

In order to gain access to the Feld Building, players are required to pass two Shivers checks (Impossible 20). Remember that the more bonus side quests you complete in this area, the more bonus shivers points you’ll earn to help pass the checks.

Here is a list of the things you can do to lower the difficulty of the Shivers check:

• Find your gun.
• Find Idiot Doom Spiral’s jacket.
• Complete all of Morell and Lena’s Side Quests. This includes: ‘Find Morell the Cryptozoologist’, ‘Inspect the traps’, and ‘Find the Insulindian Phasmid’
• Go on a date with Lilienne from the Fishing Village.
• Reconstruct the murder
• Try to open the door to the weapons cache in Land’s End. You will most likely fail, but even if you attempt it, you will earn a bonus Shivers check.
• Help the ravers start a nightclub.
• Investigate the dead body on the boardwalk.

Once the Shivers check is passed twice, you will discover two ways to enter the building. The player can either climb the ladder next to the mural to get into the building via the roof, or you can use the pipe below the boardwalk.

To use the ladder you will need to pass a Savoir Faire check and you will also need to let Kim in once you make your way inside. The Pipe will require a Physical Instrument check, but allows both of you to enter at the same time. Once you’re inside, make your way to the basement to find Ruby.
