HOW MANY DAYS IN DISCO ELYSIUM

August 15, 2022

Disco Elysium is arguably one of the best games ever made, receiving universal acclaim and numerous Game of the Year honours when it was released back in 2019.

There’s no end to the amount of positive things you can say about the debut title from independent game dev ZA/UM. It looks killer, has some excellent storytelling, and there’s plenty of replayability too.

Whilst the RPG originally launched on PC Only, it did make its way to consoles via the release of the Final Cut edition in 2021, allowing even more players to experience everything it has to offer.

If you’re only just getting around to playing this incredible game, then don’t worry, we won’t judge you. But we imagine since you’re here, you’re probably looking for some information about how days work in Disco Elysium and how many days you have until the story ends. No problem, we’ve got a full guide to help you out, so read on for everything you need to know.

How Many Days Are There in Disco Elysium?

In total, Disco Elysium has ten playable days, with each day offering new things to do, new areas to explore, more characters to interact with, and much more.

You don’t need all ten days though, since the main quest can be completed by Day 5 in some cases.

That being said, if you want to see everything there is you’ll likely want to play all ten days. That way you can experience as much of the game as possible, especially since certain plot points and quests will only occur on certain days within the game.

For instance, the Sync the sines with Noid side quest cannot be started until Day 3.

How Long Does Disco Elysium Take To Finish?

Unfortunately, there is no specific length of time to beat Disco Elysium, since it can be approached in all sorts of ways.

At any given time players can miss out on optional quests on a specific day, or finish the main quest before reaching other mysteries within the game. At any given point players could be distracted by helping Ravers start a Nightclub, fixing a “traffic jam for the ages”, and even singing karaoke.

Due to the wealth of side quests and more, we can’t say for certain how long it takes to finish Disco Elysium. That being said, a post from the developers’ blog gave a rough outline, writing:

“It takes 60+ hours of continuous playtime to finish Disco Elysium if you’re a reasonably completionist player, as I am. It takes 90 hours if you’re absolutely savouring every detail. And 30 hours if you’re rushing it. Back-of-the-box, I would put playtime at: 60+ hours.”

According to players reporting their own playtimes on the site HowLongToBeat, Disco Elysium takes around 21 hours to finish the main story, and 30 hours to do some of the extras. You can see the different times recorded by HowLongToBeat on the chart below:
