CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS COLD WAR’S SEASON 1 BUNDLES EXPLAINED

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s Season 1 Bundles Explained

December 28, 2020

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is one of the biggest games in the world right now, with millions of players jumping online to join the firefight.  There’s no doubt that the multiplayer component of Call of Duty is the most popular aspect of the game, giving players plenty of reasons to dive back in week after week.  From new maps and modes to countless options, it’s hard to get bored with Black Ops Cold War.

When you’re out there in the sea of virtual humanity, it can be nice to differentiate yourself.  That’s where the idea of customization comes in.  There are dozens of elements you can tweak with your gameplay experience, at least from a visual standpoint. This is thanks to the various Bundles that are up for grabs via the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War online store.  You can’t buy anything that’ll make you a better player, but you can certainly snag some stuff that’ll make sure your opponents never forget your name!

What are Bundles?

The Black Ops Cold War online store is constantly updated with new content to spruce up your operator with.  Again, these bundles won’t include bonuses that make you a more dangerous player.  They’re just meant as a way for you to express yourself out on the battlefield.  There are skins, animations, charms, finishing moves, and much more included in these Bundles, which all have a wide range of prices.  You’ll have to cough up real-life cash if you want to pick up these Bundles, but thankfully each Bundle packs some serious bang for your buck.

Operator Bundles

Operator Bundles are among the most popular that Call of Duty games offer, and that includes Black Ops Cold War.  Operator Bundles can include skins for weapons and vehicles, watches, charms, emblems, stickers, and finishing moves.  Those are all well and good, but it’s the new Operator skins included in each Operator Bundle that everyone wants.  These Operator Skins give you the chance to play as a new character, or even a returning favorite.

Operator Bundles to keep an eye out for in Season 1 include a mix of old and new.  The fresh faces this time around include Roze, Sparks, Zenya, and Bulldozer.  Those characters are definitely worth a look, but there’s one more Operator that longtime Call of Duty fans will find hard to resist.  None other than John “Soap” MacTavish from Modern Warfare 2 is making his return, complete with an Alpenstock ice pick.  Each of these Operator Bundles is priced at 2,400 CoD Points.

Mastercraft Bundles

While Operator Bundles focus on characters, the Mastercraft Bundles set their sights on weapons.  Mastercraft Bundle weapons are going to be the flashiest ones you can pick up, as not only do they get a unique skin, but a special inspect animation as well.  If you like to let your weapons do the talking on the battlefield, Mastercraft Bundles are going to be an absolutely must-have.

Some of the options you’ll find in Season 1 include the Rocket Science, Retro Renegade, and Mint Condition Bundles.  The Rocket Science Bundle includes skins that are rocketship/space themed, with lots of brown, orange, green, and white coloring.  You also get a ICBRifle blueprint, a sticker, charm, Calling Card, and more.  The Retro Renegade Bundle is all about 80’s flair, with a retro-styled paint job for your weapons, along with a unique vehicle horn, charm, and more.  Finally, the Mint Condition Bundle gives your weapons a toy-like makeover, but they’re still just as deadly.  Also included in this Bundle is a watch, charm, sticker, and more.  Just like Operator Bundles, these Mastercraft Bundles are 2,400 CoD Points.

Variety Bundles

If you’re looking to piecemeal some cosmetic items and make something decidedly more personal, you’ll want to sift through the Variety Bundles.  These Bundles include a wide range of different items, and a varying price range.  Some Variety Bundles include an Operator and weapon skins, while others include blueprints, stickers, charms, and more.  There’s no set rule for what’s included in a Variety Bundle, so you’ll have to visit each one on the Call of Duty online store and click through to see what’s packed in.

Season 1 has an absolutely insane amount of Variety Bundles to dig through.  Believe it or not, there’s nearly 100 different options up for grabs in Season 1, and that’s not including the Bundles that we mentioned above.  If you’re someone who’s really into customization, you might find yourself spending more time learning about Variety Bundles than actually playing the game.  Get ready for some choice paralysis!

Free Bundles

Free Bundles are exactly what they sound like.  You don’t have to cough up a penny to grab these kits, as they’re offered pro bono to all players.  Just like Variety Bundles, these Free Bundles can include any number of items.  Sometimes they have a theme, such as Holiday goodies or seasonal skins.  Other times they’re a random collection of charms and stickers.  While they might not offer the most exciting content, you really can’t complain when they’re free!

Season 1 has a handful of Bundles that include odd bits and pieces, but most of Free Bundles available are holiday themed.  With Season 1 taking place during the Winter months, it’s no surprise to see a lot of festive options available.  You can hop in the online shop and download some free goodies including snowmen charms, frosty emblems, icy weapon skins, and more.
